Kanban
Kanban (Japanese) is a concept used in lean manufacturing and just-in-time production. Kanban is a system for signalling (with, for example, cards) when something is needed. Kanban can be used to organise all kinds of things in life and is widely used to control the logistics production chain. Kanban was developed by Taiichi Ohno, at Toyota, to find a system with which it was possible to achieve a high level of production. Kanban is one of the methods by which JIT can be achieved.
Knot
Unit of measurement for the speed (of a ship) equal to one nautical mile (= 1,852 metres) per hour.

A known shipper is, in the case of air freight, a party registered with the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee (KMar) and ACN, that is known as a secure shipper.
